Artist's Guidelines

The following guidelines represent Mystic Station Designs, LLC basic requirements for art submissions.


Non-Electronic Submissions:
  1. All non-electronic submissions should include a typed cover letter and samples for our files as a permanent reference.
  2. All non-electronic Black-and-white artwork should be submitted as clean photocopies, with your name and address on the back of each sheet.
  3. In the cover letter, please include your name and contact information. This information must be sent along with the submission. No submission will be reviewed without this information.
MSD will accept:
  1. High Quality Laser Copies.
  2. High Quality Color Laser Copies for color submissions.
  3. Color Photographs for color submissions.
  4. High Quality (min. 600x600 dpi) printouts.

The image must be able to be scanned at high resolution. On the back of each image, please include your name, your address, the title of the piece and some additional form of contact information. We're very careful with our artwork, but sometimes things do get separated from their forms.

Electronic Submission
  1. Prior to submitting any artwork electronically contact either the Senior Manager of Projects or the Art Director. They will provide you with an account or ftp site to send the file.
  2. Along with the image, please include a file with your name and contact information. This information must be sent along with the submission. No submission will be reviewed without this information.
MSD will accept:
  1. TIFF files (300dpi)
  2. GIF files
  3. JPG files
  4. BMP files
  5. Bryce
  6. Photoshop (*.psd)
  7. Paint Shop Pro (*.psp)

All Submissions

Submissions should include representative samples of your work, regardless of style or subject matter, as our art needs vary and are quite diverse.

What MSD is looking for:
  1. Clear, clean, high-contrast pen-and-ink drawings showing a knowledge of subject matter and proper perspective.
  2. Clear, clean, high-contrast computer-generated drawings, showing a knowledge of subject matter and proper perspective.
  3. Proper and proportional anatomy.
  4. Proper handling of props (clothing, weapons, items) and backgrounds.
  5. All shading should be done with solid black or zip tones.
What MSD is NOT looking for:
  1. Do not send in a submission of artwork that is not yours and place your name upon it.
  2. No Halftones.
  3. Do not send in a submission of artwork to which you no longer own publication rights. This includes work for hire that was purchased by another company.
